Art for Blue Smile

We are proud to be sponsoring an exhibition of art to raise funds for Blue Smile, a new Cambridgeshire charity.  The exhibition, at Anstey Hall, opens with a private view on Monday 20th June and is open to the public on Tuesday 21st June, from 10.30 am to 7 pm.

There will be a fantastic range of work for sale by established artists including paintings, ceramics, jewellery and sculpture. Fiona Carver, one of the Simon Robinson framers, will be also be exhibiting her selection of lino prints.

Blue Smile provides counselling and support in schools to help vulnerable and disadvantaged children fulfil their true potential and have happier childhoods. It can quite simply be life-changing.

Come and enjoy a range of art and support a local charity!

Some Brightly Coloured Arrivals

We have just taken delivery of a fun new range of brightly coloured mouldings.  With everything from pink, yellow and orange, to blue, purple and green they are perfect for children.  We were very excited to be able to use not one, but two colours on a Mr Man cross stitch that was recently brought in. As you can see, the purple and green went so well that we decided to use them both!

Multi-coloured Mr Men Frame

First we stretched and laced the cross stitch to prepare it for framing.  We decided to use a white spacer to keep the glass away from the needle work and finished it off with our special non-reflective and UV filter glass so the detail of the work really stood out.

The white Spacer

Using the two colours to make up the frame gave the finished piece a real sense of fun for a little girl!

The next generation

Well, what better for a first blog than this, here is the next generation in training!  Ben and I had a lovely morning few Sundays ago. He really enjoyed himself. What started off as glueing a few broken toys turned into “Daddy can we do some framing, (the wood was rejected, faulty wood but I did not tell Ben this).

Dear All

Well this is a new concept, over the next few weeks we will be adding interesting features to this page. It will consist of pictures of things that have been framed, what we are up to, details of events, info about the charities we support and so much more.

I am really looking forward to this as it occured to me that we frame so many fantastic things that it would be a wonderful idea to share these with you.

Please watch this space as I think it could be fun.

Best Wishes
